ATTENTION STUDENTS: IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BRING YOUR IDs TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY. IF YOU LOST OR HAD YOUR ID STOLEN THEN IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PURCHASE A NEW ID FROM THE STUDENT STORE BEFORE SCHOOL, DURING YOUR SNACK, OR DURING YOUR LUNCH. And students please remember – that without your IDs it is difficult to access the library, difficult to access the computer lab, and it is difficult to get snack/lunch.

During B lunches A Quad will now be closed. All classes in that area are teaching during that period and it is very distracting with students in the quad at that time. Thank you for your cooperation!!!
CREDIT RETRIEVAL APPLICATIONS FOR NEXT SEMESTER WILL BE AVAILABLE ON DECEMBER 15th. Please pick one up in the Assistant Principal's office. Remember, the sooner you turn it in the better chance you have of getting into a class.

Attention Key Club Members: The Fall Rally has been rescheduled for December 13th. Please see Mrs. Solis in room 116 as soon as possible if you plan to attend. The tickets need to be ordered by Thursday, December 4th. We will meet on Friday after school also.

The KHS Drama Club is proud to present the first production of the year at our very own KHS Theater: “Arsenic and Old Lace”
“Arsenic and Old Lace” is an over-the-top comedy of the Brewster family's madness.Come meet the charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with the recently deceased; the antics of the brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt; and the activities of the other brother…which are too horrible to discuss here. The madness begins December 5th and 6th at 7:30pm and on December 7th at 1:30pm. Tickets are $5 or $3 with an ASB card. Come support the KHS Drama Club!!!

The next meeting is tomorrow, December 2nd, so make sure to join us in celebrating Christmas around the World. The club meets TUESDAYS in room 308 after school at 2:45 pm see you there. Attention Model United Nations Club Members: We will have a meeting this Friday, December 5th to plan our Christmas Around the World Party on December 12th. The cases are in! The cases are in! The cases are in and there is a mandatory Mock Trial Meeting, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3rd, after school in Mr. Hammer's room 312.

For all girls interested in trying out for softball, there is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, December 4th at 2:50 in room 111. If you plan on trying out, you need to be at this meeting. Any questions, see Coach Zimmardi in the girls locker room.

SENIORS!!! Start thinking about graduation and senior check out!!! We know it is early but it’s never too early to take care of over due textbooks, library books, fees and fines. Any outstanding balances will result in not being able to attend Prom, Gradnite and ultimately the Graduation Ceremony. Please start taking care of these issues now and make your senior check out fast! Thank you, Mrs. Nickols and the Activities Office.

Boys’ golf is having its first meeting of the year in room 108 at 2:50pm on Thursday, December 4th. The meeting will last until 3:15pm. If you are interested in trying out for the boys’ golf team, be sure to be at this meeting.

(12/1/08 – 12/19/08) Freshman, Sophomores & Juniors: Do you want to pursue a career in the legal field? Are you interested in becoming a CSI? The National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation gives students an intimate look at the legal profession, the opportunity to watch the judicial process in action and the chance to go behind the scenes at law firms, governmental agencies and more in Washington, D.C. If you have a GPA of 3.3 or higher and would like to be considered to participate in the week-long National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation this summer, please stop by the Career Center and sign up!

(12/1/08 – 12/19/08) American University in Washington, D.C. is looking for outstanding 9th , 10th and 11th grade student nominees to participate in the 2009 National Student Leadership Conference. Students will participate in career-focused leadership programs such International Diplomacy, Law, Medicine and Healthcare, Entrepreneurship & Business, US Policy/Politics, Intelligence and National Security, and the Arts. Candidates must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, extracurricular involvement, and maintain a “B” average. Each program averages a cost of $2,000 and scholarships are available. If interested, please see Mrs. Centonze in the Career Center.

(12/1/08 – 12/19/08) The Elks National Foundation is offering the Most Valuable Student Scholarship to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide. Judging criteria is based upon scholarship, leadership and financial need. Deadline is January 9th. For more info, see the Scholarship Wall or log on to: www.elks.org/enf/scholars
- (12/1/08 – 12/19/08) The Campaign for College Opportunity has launched the "Save Me a Spot in College" Scholarship Contest for the forth year. It is open to all students grades 6 through 12 in California. The contest includes categories for written word, poster and TV ad in an effort to engage young Californians as a voice for college access for the growing number of young people in the state. They will award $100,000 in scholarships, ranging from $500-$1,000, to more than 100 winners across the state of California. Details posted in the College/Career Center or enter online at: www.collegecampaign.org. Deadline for entries is March 15.
